Please join RASD on Tuesday, June 3 for a Civil Service Presentation.

Mamie Eng, Director Henry Waldinger Memorial Library, will discuss the ABC’s of the Librarian I & II tests, tips on maximizing your education and experience and strategies to improve your score.

The cost for the program is: $5.00 NCLA members and $15 for non-members. CEUs will be awarded.

Winners Announced for “Freedom to Read” Art/Essay Contest

The Intellectual Freedom Committee of NCLA is pleased to announce the results of the 10th Annual “Freedom to Read” Essay/Art Contest.

The Contest Question was:

“What Super-Hero from a Story or Movie would You Like to Be?”

A reception to recognize the Winners and Honorable Mentions is scheduled for Thursday, May 15 at the Levittown Public Library, starting at 7:30 PM.

The attached list provides the names, schools, and the selected super-heros. We hope to see some of you at the reception, in addition to the families, friends, etc. of those Nassau County students being recognized.

Registration is now open for the first in the 2014 Retiree Committee Series on May 14 at NLS from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

The topic will be Exploring Long Island: Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard.

Guest speaker will be from the Long Island Tourist and Convention Bureau.

Fee: $1.00 NCLA members, $11.00 non NCLA members. Please make checks payable to NCLA.
