His first work of fiction, a crime novel called Black Irish, introduced the Harvard Educated detective, Absalom Kearney, and marked the beginning of a new crime series. The second in the series, Hangman, was published earlier this year.
Talty is also the co-author of the New York Times best selling account, A Captain’s Duty, with Captain Richard Phillips, the hero of the Maersk Alabama Hijacking. The book was made into a film starring Tom Hanks.
